New Book – Launched May 2022:

Lead Your Team Toward a Better World

Drs Lies Wouters, international organizational psychologist, advisor, trainer and team coach, based in the Netherlands, introduces her unique Metaphor Map and Metaphor Model of Psychological Safety in this, her first book published in English. She shines a new light on how all leaders across the world can use specific learnt skills to create teams where people thrive, when they understand that it is up to them to create the circumstances where people feel motivated, have fun and grow. She explains the neurobiology of our behaviour and its impact on performance, collaboration, creativity, happiness, productivity and so much more. Backed by relevant science, comprehensive research, real-life examples and practical exercises this book takes you step by step through the underlying processes in your brain and body to develop the skills that ensure high performance. She reveals the significance of applying these skills in the world and how we can all play an important role in making this world better, where not only teams, but everyone can thrive.

What other leaders say about the book:

“Creating a psychologically safe workplace is very important. As leader of a team with 120 academic employees I often wondered how you could do this. This book shows how leaders can contribute to a safe workplace, by taking care of your own self-support system and take the steps of empathy, trust and autonomy support. The metaphor map is brilliant. I really like it and it helped me explain the behaviour of some of my colleagues. I will certainly give this book as a present to other leaders and managers.”

Professor, Doctor Arjan Bos, Dean Faculty of Psychology, Open University, The Netherlands

“An understanding of psychological safety is a ‘must have’ for anyone who works in or runs a team. This book is a fascinating mixture of deep research and practical actions, which will help your team diagnose barriers and collaborate more fully. Drs Lies Wouters provides new insights into an often-neglected area, which can be a game changer for effectiveness. In our uncertain world, contemporary leaders need to be able to build psychological safety more than ever before and this book provides you with the toolkit.”

Jacquie Stafford-Sumner, Director, Accredited Executive Coach and Leadership Facilitator, ManDev Limited, France

“A revolutionary, easy to apply metaphor approach supported by a scientifically backed model to build top performing teams. A must read for every manager!”

Drs. Ludo Breman, The Netherlands

“This book is impactful, insightful, informative and has all the answers to my questions! A must-read for all who want to see changes in their leadership. It provided a gateway to deeper knowledge and understanding on how to handle myself in a difficult situation and other people too in the process. Not only does this book explain it scientifically, but also in a way I can relate to with the real-life stories and experiences included.”
